Annual 2026 CARIFTA Games Takes Place in Grenada!


The CARIFTA Games are one of the most important junior track and field competitions in the Caribbean, bringing together a variety of young athletes from across the region.

First held in 1972, the Games were created to promote unity and develop athletic talent among the Caribbean nations. Over the years, they have become a proving ground for future stars, with legends like Usain Bolt and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce once competing at this level before becoming household names.

The Games are held annually, usually over the Easter weekend, and include events such as sprints, relays, jumps, and throws. Countries take great pride in their performances, making the competition highly spirited. Beyond medals, the CARIFTA Games help build discipline, regional pride, and opportunities for young athletes to advance internationally. Today, they remain a cornerstone of Caribbean sports development and an incredible celebration of excellence for its youth.
